MCA-KC President Bill Adams
On Friday, January 20, MCA-KC celebrated the mechanical contracting industry at the InterContinental Hotel on the Plaza. It was “2012 Kansas City Night”, an annual event in which each year the Association recognizes our previous year’s accomplishments and efforts, while looking forward to what lies ahead for the new year.
Included in the nearly 100 people in attendance – many of who brought their spouses – were MCA-KC Member Contractors, MCA-KC Associate Members, MCA’s Local and National Union representatives, the MCAA National President Mark Rogers, MCA-KC’s two Student Chapters, representatives from Lakemary Center (recipients of our 2011 Charity Golf Outing), and the MCA-KC staff.
During the event, we recognized those individuals and companies who contributed to MCA-KC’s successes and efforts this past year – especially those who volunteered their time and talents to serve on the various Committees that empower the Association to move the industry forward.
We also continued to emphasize our overall goal – to compete for every single mechanical contracting job in the Kansas City region – every single one. Last year we worked with and promoted union labor for the benefit of our members and, in doing so, finalized a new contract to provide new tools to make union contractors more competitive with non-union shops.
We will continue to work toward this overall goal while, at the same time, meeting our other key objectives of contractor Education, Student Chapter relations, Associate Member involvement, and ongoing communications.
Ultimately, the MCA-KC exists for you, our members, and because of you – we are essentially a volunteer organization. So please continue to volunteer and encourage others to volunteer so we can maintain the strength of this Association and continue to serve our industry well.
