Environmental Issues in the Workplace!
Does your company work in buildings built before 1980? Industrial facilities? Rehabilitation work in hospitals or schools?
Are you protecting your workforce and building occupants from exposure to environmental hazards?
Do you know that incidental contact with asbestos requires a 2 hour annual refresher training course?
Are you protecting your company from environmental pollution lawsuits? And did you know these charges are not covered by your liability insurance?
Does your field leadership know how to look for asbestos, Lead, and Mold on Jobsites?
Do you know when your company has to be an EPA licensed Certified Renovator?
Industry experts will share their knowledge on the following topics:
Asbestos (Jim Pickel – Cates Sheet Metal)
Lead (Ken Grist – SMACNA)
Mold (Sharon Mount – Thomas-McGee)
What You Will Learn…
This free morning session is targeted to mechanical, electrical, and sheet metal contractors – owners, principals, safety coordinators, project managers, foremen, service providers, and anyone else involved in the company’s safety related process – in an effort to provide them with current and relevant information on environmental issues in the workplace and how to protect your workforce on projects. You will learn how to identify these three sources of environmental pollution and the appropriate way to address the removal or remediation of these toxins.
Additional topics include hazards, health effects, training requirements, and responsible parties liable for litigation.
