MCA-KC Government Awareness Committee

The MCA-KC Government Awareness committee exists to support the needed legislative changes to meet the goals the Unionf.i.t.s. campaign.

To accomplish this goal, a new level of cooperation must occur with our Union teammates.

In addition, we must all work together to create substantive changes at the local, state, and federal levels of government. That means we must pursue legislation, regulation, and enforcement to level the playing field between union and non-union mechanical contractors.*

Five-Year Legislative Goal

Build the necessary awareness and relationships with local, state, and federal elected officials to increase current market share and expand contractors into previously abandoned markets.

2011-2012 Legislative Priorities

Build awareness and advocate for enforcement of current laws at the federal, state and local levels.

In 2011-2012, our activities will focus on building relationships with elected officials at the federal level and then expand to the state and local levels.

*Important Note: The MCA-KC is a 501 (c)6 organization and has limits in its ability to participate in campaigns; however, it has more latitude to directly or indirectly lobby elected officials.
