About
We are Kansas City's Mechanical Contracting community empowering professionals to Learn, Collaborate, and Lead.
The Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas City (MCAKC) is an organization dedicated to serving the needs of the Kansas City area union mechanical contractors, who service and install plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, process piping, and refrigeration units.
The Association’s members include both large contractors who work from coast-to-coast and small, specialized contractors who work on a local and regional level. The organization believes its strength rests in the diversity of the membership base.
MCAKC serves as the voice of the mechanical contracting industry. The Association — together with the 600-member Plumbers Local No. 8 and the 1,200-member Pipe Fitters Local No. 533 — teams with specialty contractors, union crafts, architects, engineers, building owners, facilities managers, and city officials in providing the diversity of professional talent and skilled manpower for the continued building of Kansas City.
The Association is the leader of the union mechanical construction and service industry, promoting the professionalism, cost-effectiveness, and productivity of union construction through education, labor relations, public information, and government affairs — both locally and nationally.
The Mechanical Contractors Association of Kansas City can trace its origins to earlier area industry groups. It continues to serve as an integral part of the foundation that builds Kansas City!
