Back by popular demand, MCAKC will be co-hosting the Heavy Metal Summer Experience Kansas City in 2024. This *FREE* event is aimed at high school students and recent graduates who are interested in exploring a career in the trades.
Heavy Metal Summer Experience is a multi-day camp and will be held the week of July 15, 2024. Camp will introduce high school students to exciting careers in plumbing, pipefitting, and sheet metal trades. In collaboration with the Local 533, Local 8, and Local 2 training centers, you'll have the opportunity to explore the world of union trades and discover why it's a smart career choice. During this camp, you'll get hands on experience using industry tools and equipment while working alongside experienced professionals who will guide you through every step of the process. You'll spend time at each trades' training center as well as visit a construction jobsite. By the end of this camp, you'll have new skills and experience as well as an understanding of what it takes to be successful in this industry.
