Celebrating Our MCAKC Scholarship Recipients

As another academic year ends, we're proud to recognize and celebrate the incredible students who are shaping the future of the mechanical contracting industry. Through our partnerships with Kansas State University and Pittsburg State University, MCAKC continues to invest in student success, leadership, and industry engagement.

We are especially proud of our MCA Student Chapter members for completing another excellent academic year. Your commitment, teamwork, and growth are the reasons we do what we do.

Scholarship at Kansas State University

MCAKC funds an annual scholarship through the Kansas State University Endowment Fund. One undergraduate student is selected each year by the university's general scholarship committee. This award supports a student in good standing who is properly enrolled in the Construction Science and Management Professional Program and is a member of the MCA KSU Student Chapter. Preference is given to students with financial need.

We're proud to recognize Matthew Carpenter as the 2024–2025 recipient of this scholarship. We look forward to awarding next year's recipient soon.

Scholarships at Pittsburg State University

Through Pittsburg State University's Endowment Fund, MCAKC awarded $3,000 in scholarships for the 2024–2025 school year. For the 2025–2026 academic year, we've increased that total to $4,000.

Our Pittsburg State recipients are chosen using a detailed scoring rubric that places the highest emphasis on their involvement in our industry. This includes participation in the MCA Student Chapter, contributions to competitions, leadership roles, and mechanical industry career goals. Academic performance, financial need, and extracurricular involvement are also considered.

Here's what recipients of our 2024-2025 scholarships had to say about the impact it had on them:

“This scholarship shows that putting in hard work with my MCA Chapter and MCAKC can benefit you.” – Griffin Souder

“Honestly, what's made the biggest impact is everything that came with [the scholarship]—the opportunities, the people, and the experiences I got to be a part of.” – Kavan Limbasiya

“Knowing that there are people who believe in you enough to give you money to pursue deepening your education is something that I have taken to heart.” – Gianni Piccini

“I would not have had the college experience I've had, or the future that lies ahead, without the support and guidance of our MCA Student Chapter and the MCAKC Association staff.” – Parker Jenkins

We are proud to award scholarships to the following Pittsburg State University students for the 2025-2026 school year:

  • David Fiscus

  • Rileigh Manuel

  • Melissa Meigs

To each of this year's scholarship recipients, congratulations! Your passion, drive, and involvement in the mechanical industry set you apart. MCAKC is honored to support your journey and proud to celebrate all that you've accomplished this year.
We can't wait to see what you build next.
