During this session, Sandy Brown will outline the critical role of a Designated Employer Representative (DER) in maintaining a safe and complaint work environment.
Goals of this session:
Stacy Zerr, Executive Director of MCAKC will review the Substance Abuse Policy for LU 8, LU 533, and MCAKC as well as recent updates.

Sandy Brown is a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and trainer/consultant who specializes in the drug & alcohol awareness requirements mandated by Federal agencies FMCSA, FAA, FTA, FRA. Sandy is a licensed social worker in Missouri/Kansas who also provides organizational development and management consulting services in conflict resolution, violence in the workplace, critical incident response services and team building.
Stacy Zerr started with MCAKC in November 2022. She grew up in construction and continued in the industry that caught her passion. Working for both large and small contractors, she's had roles as a design engineer, estimating manager, project manager, technology lead, and preconstruction manager. Stacy has been involved with the MCAA since 2013 serving on serval national committees as well as teaching for the MCAA Institute for Project Management. Stacy has both a construction and mechanical engineering degree from Iowa State University and an MBA from Regis University. She’s a licensed Professional Engineer in six states.
