Smart Tools, UAVs and Others – and how they relate to the internet of things 

Savvy construction industry professionals confess that acceptance of technology is the future. A good number resist committing their time and resources while hoping to see results by using tech for sake of tech. Tech innovations are sweeping the industry to the point that even the standard issue hard hat is changing, in addition to new advances that benefit every area of the industry, for those that embrace the future. In this seminar, Shaabini Alford, will examine some of the new technologies that are driving a more connected future.

During this session, we will discuss:

• Technology planning and budgeting
• Assessment of current and future technology needs
• Options and desired capabilities of software choices in estimating, business development, job cost management, corporate financial management, design, fabrication, and field operations. 

Instructor
Shaabini Alford, Director at Maxim Consulting Group, brings over two decades of experience in construction operations to her role. Specializing in assessing, refining, and implementing client processes, Shaabini has a proven track record of navigating complex challenges in jobsite crisis management, contract negotiations, and multi-million dollar change order settlements. With a passion for team dynamics and process optimization, she excels in fostering highly effective teams and enhancing their performance through meticulous documentation and strategic planning. Shaabini's industry involvement extends to her roles on the MCAA Board of Directors, the MCAA Project Management Education Committee, and as a co-founder of WiOPS (Women in Construction Operations), reflecting her commitment to advancing leadership and diversity in the construction sector. She is recognized for her expertise in areas such as procurement, risk mitigation, and strategic planning, consistently driving projects to successful and profitable outcomes.

Cancelations for all MCAKC events must be received at least 2 Business Days prior to the event by email to learn@mcakc.org or by phone at 913-948-9200. Cancelations received after this time will be assessed a cancelation fee.

“No Shows”, except for emergencies, will be assessed a fee and invoiced $50 for a half day seminar, $100 for a full day, or the full amount of event expenses paid.
