Join us for a special community service event as we team up with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a nonprofit dedicated to building and delivering beds for children in need across our community! 

Volunteers will help transform raw lumber into bunk beds through an assembly-line setup that includes sanding, sawing, drilling, staining, assembling, and even branding the final SHP logo. No experience is needed, just a willingness to jump in and help!

This Build Day is made possible by our Charity Field Day and Intern Kick-Off event held in May, and is proudly hosted by the MCAKC Young Professionals Committee.

While it’s organized by our YPC, everyone is encouraged to attend. Whether you're an intern, seasoned contractor, Associate Member, or friend of the industry, this is your opportunity to connect, give back, and make a real difference together.

What to Expect:

• A hands-on Build Day experience with SHP’s local chapter team
• Stations for all skill levels and interests
• Networking with others in the mechanical contracting community
• A shared goal: making sure no kid sleeps on the floor in our town!

Volunteer Info:

• What to bring: Just yourself! All tools and safety gear are provided.
• What to wear: Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. Dress ready to work!
• Waiver: All volunteers must complete an Indemnification Release Form.

Cancelation Policy

Cancelations for all MCAKC events must be received at least 2 Business Days prior to the event by email to learn@mcakc.org or by phone at 913-948-9200. Cancelations received after this time will be assessed a cancelation fee.
