This class can be completed alone or as part of the Finance Series.
During this seminar, participants will explore and unravel the confusion and mystery of construction accounting principles. Attendees will leave with the understanding and ability to explain what drives the construction life cycle and subsequent impacts on our organizations. Students will learn how revenue is recognized for both construction and services sides of the business and through practical application, will learn how key project reports flow in to the income statement and balance sheet. In addition, the group will be able to identify and explore critical job cost components that have impact on project and company profitability. Through hands on practice and activities, learn how to use project indicators as a tool to manage project success and recognize potential project issues before they adversely affect the bottom line of the company. Finally, the class will tie project performance outcomes to company indicators that impact a firm’s ability to operate and grow through the construction life cycle.
