Creating a Safe Job Site

This seminar provides a practical and interactive introduction to safety management on construction sites. Tailored for new project managers, the seminar covers key safety responsibilities, including verifying Certificates of Insurance (COIs), developing and implementing Site-Specific Safety Plans (SIP), understanding their role in accident response, and Experience Modification Rate (EMR). Through hands-on activities like developing a safety plan, incident simulations, and risk assessment exercises, participants will gain essential skills for fostering a safe work environment, preventing accidents, and ensuring regulatory compliance—all while minimizing project risks and costs.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
- Identify key project management responsibilities related to job site safety and compliance.
- Verify Certificates of Insurance (COIs) to ensure subcontractors and vendors meet required coverage standards.
- Develop a Site-Specific Safety Plan (SIP) that addresses hazard identification, emergency response, and worker training.
- Demonstrate appropriate actions during a job site accident, including incident response, documentation, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Calculate the potential impact of job site accidents on the company’s Experience Modification Rate (EMR) and insurance premiums.
- Perform job site safety audits to proactively identify and mitigate risks before accidents occur.
- Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients to enforce safety standards and address safety concerns.

With a background in construction science and industrial technology, he brings both technical and leadership skills to ensuring workplace safety excellence.
