Fundamentals of Project Scheduling

April 6 & 8
12:30 pm to 2:30 pm

In this seminar, you will learn about several different types of schedules used in construction projects and common scheduling terminology. Specific schedules to be reviewed include CPM (Critical Path Method) Schedule, Manpower Loaded Schedule, BIM Coordination Schedule, Fabrication Schedule, Equipment Delivery Schedule and Short Interval Planning. This seminar will also cover how to use, create and leverage schedules as a construction Project Manager in an effort to ensure installation efficiency. In-class activities and instructor stories of real-life scenarios experienced will be utilized to illustrate the benefits and significance of understanding construction schedules.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this seminar, you will be able to:

  1. Explain the importance of scheduling.
  2. Describe the fundamental types of schedules tha exist and their respective benefits and shortfalls.
  3. Identify how poor scheduling can impact labor productivity.
  4. Explain how each type of schedule is utilized by a project manager.
  5. Describe how to optimize your project using advanced scheduling tactics.
Target Audience: Project Managers with 0-2 years of experience, support staff or anyone interested in moving into a project management role or in obtaining the fundamental project scheduling skills.

Troy Aichele
 has a B.S. in Construction Management, an A.A.S in HVAC and Refrigeration Design, and has worked in every facet of the business as a plumbing contractor for nearly 30 years.  Through Aichele & Associates, LLC, he teaches national workshops focusing on project management, managing and forecasting labor, estimating, change orders, blueprint reading, and how to perform water audits.  He’s also a former MCAA Career Development Committee Chairman and was an adjunct professor at the University of Washington for 17 years.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations for all MCAKC events must be received at least 2 Business Days prior to the event by email to capulson@mcakc.org or by phone at 913-948-9200. Cancellations received after this time will be assessed a $100 cancellation fee.

No Shows” will be assessed a fee (see below) and invoiced accordingly.

$100 Event Duration: Over 4 Hours (Should the event cover more than one day, this fee will apply for each day of event)
