Due to low enrollment, our seminar Plumbing 101 for Non-Technical Employees has been canceled. We will reschedule this seminar for 2025. Look for more information later this year.
This seminar is designed to equip participants with fundamental knowledge in plumbing essentials. Ideal for individuals seeking a solid understanding of plumbing basics, this workshop covers terminology, design principles, and practical applications of plumbing systems in buildings. Participants will review plans and specifications, gain insight into common materials and methods used in installation. From fittings to fixtures, attendees will explore various components of plumbing systems.

Instructor
Shannon Nicklaus began his professional journey in the HVAC industry, working as a fabricator, installer, and service technician. He later transitioned to office roles, progressing from estimator to project manager. With over a decade of experience in the mechanical industry, he still maintains his Master Mechanical License.
Shannon’s diverse background includes 20 years of service with the Army Engineers, exposing him to various project types. His educational achievements include a Bachelor's degree in Vocational Technical Education and Master's degrees in both Technical Teachers Education and Engineering Technology.
For the past 18 years, Shannon has been a faculty member in the PSU School of Construction. He teaches a range of courses, including Concrete, Masonry, and Senior Projects, with a particular enthusiasm for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subjects.
Since 2008, Shannon has served as an MCA Student Chapter advisor, regularly attending GreatFutures Forums. He is also an active member of the MCAA Career Development Committee, further contributing to the industry's growth and education.
